How It Works

Independent Burn Test

by Southwest Research Institute, 2024

This test was designed to evaluate the integrity of the Firebox™ containment unit during an EV fire. The car inside was deliberately allowed to burn to maximum intensity before water extinguished the flames. At the end of the test, the Firebox™ remained undamaged, as shown in the video below.
